Tribal Nails

Hey Guys!

So I think the world is ending because I'm actually blogging! Crazy right!?!? A blogger ACTUALLY blogging! Who knew?

I guess I should start with a huge apology for my absence.... I'm officially the worst blogger ever! I basically just vanished. I haven't blogged or posted on Instagram for a few weeks which is mental... but even more insane I haven't painted my nails since the beginning of LAST MONTH!?!?!? What is wrong with me?

Basically I have just been much busier in my personal life.... I was recently offered my first job since finishing uni and I have my graduation coming up! I have been spending a lot more time with friends and family and I also started a new relationship. Guarantee the boyfriend will be sat there smug as anything reading this (yes he actually reads my blog! Which is absolutely adorable!). I guess I've just been a little more unorganised balancing my personal life alongside my blogging but I'M BACK and determined to be better!

Anyway..... less of the chit chat.... onto the nails!

So today I have a bright tribal design for you guys... I actually did these a while ago now but just never got round to editing the pictures and actually writing about them. I even created a tutorial for them... well sort of. I somehow manage to start off making tutorials and then just get so focused on the design I completely forget to take pictures so unfortunately I don't have all the steps.

Here is the design:

I was literally so in love with it I didn't want to take it off! The design was painted completely freehand and I have to say it was a little stressful trying to get my lines straight.

 Products used:

  • China Glaze: White on White £2.95 from nailpolish.co.uk
  • Models Own: Turquoise Sea £4.99 from Models Own or currently on 3 for 2 at Superdrug.
  • Models Own: Malibu Pink £4.99 from Models Own or currently on 3 for 2 at Superdrug
  • Oumaxi: Black acrylic paint £14.50 for 30 colours from Amazon
  • Pure color 9 liner brush & pure color glamour brush from Stylishnailartshop (currently closed).
  • Jolie Polish clean up brush £6.55 from Jolie polish
  • Sally Hansen: Insta-Dri top coat £5.99 from Boots
Now onto the tutorial...
  1. Apply a base coat and let it dry. Then, apply a base colour of white polish.
  2. Using either pink polish or acrylic paint, create a triangle on your nail using a detail brush.
  3. Now using turquoise polish or paint, create another triangle next to the other.
  4. Using black acrylic paint outline the triangles.
  5. Create 3 dots in the turquoise triangle using a dotting tool.
  6. Create a parallel line in the pink triangle and then paint small lines in between connecting them.
  7. Here is the part where I forgot to take pictures! In the white space create multiple small triangles (like a stair outline on both sides).  Following this create a ladder shape in the middle. Top the whole design with top coat.
Now the steps for the other nail....

  1.  Apply a base coat and let it dry. Then, apply a base colour of white polish.
  2. Using either pink polish or acrylic paint and a detail brush create a square towards the top of the nail.
  3. Now using either turquoise polish or acrylic paint create another square under the other.
  4. Using black acrylic paint and a striper brush outline the squares.
  5. Create lines at a right anglesin the turquoise square that become smaller and smaller.
  6. Create two vertical lines and then multiple diagonal lines in the pink square.
  7. Paint two triangles in the remaining white space. Top the design with top coat and you're finished.

So that's all of the steps to create the design. I hope you guys like this mani.

Sorry its been so long! I hope to get back to blogging more regularly!
