Geometric Triangles

Hello!

Long time no see! What a crazy time it's been! Not long after my last blog post I was really unwell for a number of weeks... then after that the world kinda got turned upside down with covid! (pretty sure this was why I was unwell) Sadly it's not over yet and it continues to be really difficult at work - I've never known it to be so busy and tired doesn't even cut it! It is just exhausting... BUT I'm hopeful we're getting there slowly!

In more exciting news I'm currently in the process of buying my first home with my boyfriend!

Over the last few years I've missed painting my nails and I found myself thinking about it today...

So... I've decided to get back into it! But I dont want to put too much pressure on myself as I know previously I found it difficult to keep posting all the time so I'm keeping it casual.

The Old Design:

This was actually a recreation of an old design I did way back when I first started with nail art! Here was my old design:

I was so proud of these when I did them at the time...

Now here is the updated version:

I definitely think they are looking a lot better!

So here is how I created them:

Tools:

  • Citadel paints
  • Barry M Nail Art Pen in White
  • Fine paint brush
  • Barry M Wet Set Quick Dry Top Coat

Step by Step:

  1. Using the Barry M Nail Art Pen I outlined my nail shape.
  2. Then I created random trianges inside the outline.
  3. Using the blue paint fill in some of the triangles at random.
  4. Using the Purple fill in some more triangles
  5. Using the green fill in a couple of others
  6. Finally using pink fill in the remaining trianges (dont worry it looks a little rough at this stage the top coat smooths things out later)
  7. Using the Barry M Pen again go over the outline to make it more crisp.
  8. Finish it off with a top coat to seal it in, smooth the paint out and make it glossy!

This was a super simple but cute design. I love the pastel colours so much! These are definitaky my favourites. They are actually model paints which my boyfriend suggested. I've always preferred doing nail art with paint and have had tubes previously but they have always dried up. These are amazing as you can just shake them up and it keeps the paint fresh!

Here's a little close up of the design on my thumb

That's it! I really hope you liked this design and I'm happy to be back posting. I'd love to hear your thoughts
